Lasertracker

The Lasertracker is a mobile 3D measuring instrument for large-volume and precise measurements.

With the Lasertracker, 3D coordinates of object points can be determined quickly and reliably. By means of an interferometer, whose laser beam automatically follows a reflector, various components and/or objects can be digitally recorded. The technology is mainly used for quality assurance in mechanical engineering. sigma3D relies on the high-quality Lasertrackers from FARO and Hexagon, formerly Leica.

Measuring volume:

The measuring volume of the Lasertracker varies depending on the application. This mobile measuring machine measures distances from 15 to 80 meters (depending on model and manufacturer). The measuring volume can be extended at will by means of special measuring procedures.

Accuracy of measurement:

The measuring accuracy can be specified with U = 20 µm + 10 µm/m. It already contains the tolerance of the measuring ball. 20 µm is a constant value that every measurement has regardless of the distance. 10 µm/m means that the measurement uncertainty increases by 10 µm per 1 meter distance from the device.

Software:

For the tactile measurement of components or fixtures we use different software packages depending on the measurement task. sigma3D relies on the software packages Insight, Polyworks, Spatial Analyzer, Metrolog, MeasureX.

Data exchange:

Data exchange is possible via e-mail, ftp server or directly on site. Alternatively, it is of course also possible to send it by post and CD data carrier. The latest measuring technology, software and our expertise offer you a highly accurate and digital truth.
