In order to link the individual laser scans to a common point cloud as precisely and efficiently as possible, even for very large laser scanning projects, we have manufactured additional 3D targets (spheres) with different diameters.
In order to produce suitable measuring targets from the plastic spheres supplied, these were given a special matt paint finish and a magnetic holder.
With the different sizes, the areas of application can be very well matched to the different target distances in the projects, so that sufficient measuring points are always recorded on the 3D targets for the linking spheres.
The result is a reliable, fast and very precise homogeneous point cloud from the individual scans. Our measurement experts thus have the choice between point-cloud-based or target-based registration.
