To ensure that individual laser scans can be merged into a single point cloud as precisely and efficiently as possible, even for very large laser scanning projects, we have manufactured additional 3D targets (spheres) with varying diameters.
To turn the supplied plastic spheres into suitable measurement targets, we applied a special matte finish and added a magnetic mount.
The different sizes allow the targets to be tailored very well to the various target distances in the projects, ensuring that sufficient measurement points are always captured on the 3D targets for the registration spheres.
The result is a reliable, fast, and highly precise homogeneous point cloud from the individual scans. Our measurement experts thus have the choice between point cloud-based or target-based registration.
